SCCA CUP Woes Come to an End
August 14, 2009
On July 29, the Coconino County Planning & Zoning (P&Z) Commission approved the sound attenuation measures presented by SCCA. The CMU wall to the south has been approved to be raised by 2’10” and the chain link fence to the east has been approved to be replaced by a 6’ wood fence. SCCA had requested that the permit expiration be extended from March 2011 to March 2013, but this request was denied. SCCA will be required to renew our CUP in March 2011.
The deadline for appeals passed quietly—no one filed an appeal in opposition to the P&Z decision. Now, the only hurdle left is to find contractors who are willing to donate or discount their services, find donors for materials, or recruit donors to our wall building fund. We have a good portion of the total already pledged, but if you are able, please contact our Development Director or
Executive Director at 928-526-5964.
We are deeply grateful to the community, our volunteers, our staff, our donors, and our board for their support during this trying time.
