Accepting Pets from Individuals

pet adoptionWe rescue dogs and cats from two primary areas of immense need in Northern Arizona:  from Native American lands - where pet overpopulation and the plight of homeless dogs and cats are a serious and heartbreaking problem – and from other Arizona shelters', pending medical and behavioral assessments.  We provide necessary veterinary care, including spay or neuter surgeries, and vaccinations, and then re-home these animals with responsible new individuals or families.

When shelter space is available, we do our very best to take in dogs and cats from other sources, spay or neuter and vaccinate them if necessary, and then re-home them.  However, we cannot guarantee that we will have space to accommodate every dog and cat that is brought to us.

Owned animal intakes are by appointment only. Each animal must pass a strict behavior assessment to help assure the animal is safely adoptable. To inquire about the possibility of surrendering an animal to us, please call (928) 526-5964.  If we are able to assist you, we do charge a fee to help cover the many costs associated with caring for and re-homing animals.

Stray animals in Coconino County must be taken to Coconino Humane Assocation.
