Customer Service
Assist SCCA staff at the front counter with customers. Greet and/or direct customers to adoption cattery or dog kennels. Answer questions.
Qualifications: Excellent verbal communication and people skills, computer literate, familiar with office etiquette, reliable transportation and must be at least 16 yrs old.
Kennel Assistant
Assist in cleaning cat and dog kennels. Checking on water for the animals. Wash and fold laundry, wash food bowls. Assist SCCA kennel staff as directed.
Qualifications: A love for animals, prefer vocational direction in the animal care industry, able to lift at least 50 lbs, no allergies to animals or disinfectants, reliable transportation.
Vet Clinic Assistant
Assist the SCCA Veterinarians and Vet Technicians with animal check-in, restraining of animals, monitor animal surgery; clean cages, surgery and pre-op, filing, data entry of injection records, other tasks as directed by clinic staff.
Qualifications: a love for animals, computer literate, able to lift at least 50lbs, prefer someone wanting to work in the animal care industry, reliable transportation.
Grooming Assistant
Bathing and light grooming of dogs and light grooming of cats.
Qualifications: A love for animals, grooming experience preferred, able to lift at least 50lbs, no allergies to animals.
Exercise Assistant
Walking and socializing with the dogs and socializing with the cats. Possible assisting with obedience training with the dogs.
Qualifications: A love for animals, able to handle all size dogs on a leash, good physical condition, no allergies to animals.
Facility Maintenance Assistant
Vacuum office area, dust office furniture, pick-up trash, wash windows, weed flower beds, Assist maintenance personnel as directed.
Qualifications: Able to do some light lifting, reliable transportation.
Administrative Assistant
Assist Administrative Director and Executive Director with data entry, filing, letter writing, spread sheets, inventory data entry, bulk mailing preparation, thank you notices, various tasks as directed by Administrative Director and Executive Director.
Qualifications: Good verbal and written communication skills, computer literate.
Education Assistant
Assist the Education Director in teaching classes and/or conducting tours of our facility.
Qualifications: Enjoy speaking to groups of people of all ages, general knowledge of our organization and shelter operations, a love for animals, minimum 6 month commitment.
Special Event Assistant
Work on various fundraisers throughout the year, attend booths at events, assist in solicitation of donated items and/or money for our organization.
Qualifications: Comfortable asking people for donations, excellent communication skills, computer literate, excellent communication and people skills, contact volunteers for scheduling.
Public Relations Assistant
Assist the Outreach Manager in getting our message to the public, attend booths at events, typing of public service announcements and news releases, faxing, and data entry .
Qualifications: Good verbal, communication and people skills, computer literate, good phone skills.
